ASMS 2009: PEAKS Studio 5.1
Saturday, May 29 - Thursday, June 4, 2009
Philadelphia, PA.
With an increased demand for label free quantification, attendees to ASMS 2009 were very impressed with the unveiling of PEAKS Studio 5.1 and its latest module, PEAKS Q. In addition to label free quantification, the flexible quantification system allows for labeling techniques such as ICAT, ICPL, iTRAQ, SILAC, TMT and user defined labeling.
Other New/Improved features of PEAKS Studio 5.1
- De Novo Sequencing
- Data Refinement
- Database Protein ID
- inChorus Meta Protein ID
- Sequence Reconstruction (SPIDER)
- Batch Workflows
- Large Project Scalability
- 800+ Gigabyte sized files have successfully been processed.
Combine the quality of these applications with PEAKS Studio’s other existing tools and researchers have a reliable proteomic workbench.
The users’ meeting on Saturday at the Hampton Inn allowed for a sneak preview of all the new features of PEAKS Studio for current customers, as well as some tips and tricks which users may not have known. After the presentation, an open forum was provided for users to discuss particular needs/interests which PEAKS may be able to solve.
On Tuesday, a lunch meeting was provided at the Marriott in the Independence Ballroom. While the presentation did include details of brand new features, more attention was given here to familiarize those in attendance with the capabilities and performing straightforward tasks.
The PEAKS booth, as always, remained a hotbed of activity during the conference. Long-time users unable to make Saturday’s meeting, to scientists with interests in PEAKS sparked by posters presented this year, watched live demonstrations, discussed methodologies, and in many cases, discussed how PEAKS became their preferred proteomic software.
